October Blog Challenge Winner

Thanks to all who entered our October blog challenge.  This challenge featured a sketch by Chef Beckie Dreyer and called for participants to use Rusty Pickle Halloween Paper and buttons.  The winner of this month's challenge is Dawn!

We love Dawn's take on the sketch.  She used the Addams Family paper line to showcase her picture of her little pumpkin!  Along with distressing the paper and stitching it, the crackle paint and googly eyes are perfect finishing touches!

Beckie's Buttons

Speaking of buttons, now that we have seen some great ways to store your buttons, let's see some great ways to use them.  Chef Beckie has provided some wonderful examples of ways to use buttons on layouts and on cards.

In this layout, Beckie uses buttons to add depth and color. She glued the colorful buttons to a chipboard border to add extra depth.

In this layout, Beckie uses buttons to draw the eye to a portion of the photo she wants to stand out. She uses a circle, but you can use a variety of shapes to achieve this. For her BOO! card, Beckie used buttons to create a unique background.

Bottles and Bottles of Buttons!

One of our most popular products lately has been our buttons.  They come packaged in small mason jars.  Each jar has over 100 buttons of varying size in it! 

Our buttons come in many different colors to match our paper lines.  We suggest you collect them all, but once you do, how will you store them?  Some of our button users store them in the old tried and true zip top bag.  Here are a few examples of button storage:

Chef Beckie found some cute little jars at Ikea and her handy husband built some custom shelves to store her collection:

Project Spotlight: Oh Boy Mini Album

This beautiful album created by Kathie Davis was made in honor of Tasha and Lance's new baby boy, Andy. 

It features the Lucky paper line with it's beautiful greens and blues.  It's perfect for this baby boy album.  Kathie embellished the album with buttons, bling, tags, fibers, black embellishments and alphabet stickers.  She has created pockets and flaps by cutting the pages of this Rusty Pickle spiral album. 

 

Pickled Pink! Support Breast Cancer Research

Support the ladies of Rusty Pickle in their walk for Breast Cancer research.

October Blog Challenge

This month's blog contest features a sketch by our talented Chef, Beckie Dreyer from bonnie Scotland.

This sketch features space for 1 or more pictures depending on your interpretation.  There is also space to add your favorite embellishments.  Your assignment (if you choose to accept it) is to use the sketch to create a layout along with Rusty Pickle Halloween Papers and buttons.  This does not have to be a Halloween themed layout, but can if you want it to be!

Here is some inspiration by our chefs.

Create a layout based on your interpretation of the sketch that uses 80% Rusty Pickle products.

Put a link to your layout in a comment on this announcement AND email a picture of your layout to rustypickleblog@gmail.com on or before midnight PST October 18, 2008. Please note that you will receive a confirmation email when your entry is received. 

Use RUSTY PICKLE HALLOWEEN PAPERS and BUTTONS. Your layout can be the theme of your choice.
